If you are seeking treatment, you may be feeling overwhelmed, helpless, anxious, or depressed. You may feel unable to escape the past, caught in self-defeating cycles, or at a loss to understand yourself or your behavior. My goal is to bring clarity to your suffering, to get to the bottom of your difficulties and to help enable you to live life at your greatest capacity.
Mental health difficulties have many dimensions. I combine my medical background, psychotherapy training with a compassionate and humanistic approach. In other words, I try to shed light on your difficulties in any way possible. In the course of "medication management," we may simultaneously realize important personal and relational patterns that underlie some of the symptoms that bring you to treatment. If you are seeing a therapist separately, I will collaborate with that clinician so that we can coordinate and deepen our shared understanding of your difficulties.
I deeply appreciate the privilege of the relationship embarked upon when starting treatment. Patients often tell me that they've disclosed things they've never told another living soul. The treatment alliance we form together can be every bit as powerful a treatment ingredient as medication.
